Special Education
K45 SCamp
The K4 and K5 Summer Camp program is a Pre-K program tailored to preschool students with focus on preparing them for transition from home or day care to the classroom environment. Emphasis will be on the basic foundations of learning geared toward teaching the student to learn how to learn.
Camp participants will learn and review:
The alphabet Beginning phonics Phonemic awareness
Writing skills Numeracy skills Social skills
The daily schedule will address three of the 4C's (communication, collaboration and creativity) to help improve the 3R's: Reading, Writing, Arithematic. Students will participate in individual and group tutoring, as well as, complete activities written and physical. The ultimate goal is to help align the context for clarity and to help make learning fun. If learners are engaged in something they enjoy, they often do not think of it as work and will allow themselves to explore the activity more.

1st - 5th Grade
Students will be introduced to technology education with focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). The staff and support personnel's will help foster 21st century learning skills and improve computer skills in a fun, learning environment, and engaging atmosphere.
Students will participate in Reading and Math rounds to help build literacy skills, as well as improve math skills. This will serve as a tutoring session for both reading and math. Students will also have an opportunity to create varying models of technology that will allow them to explore the skills needed for varying careers in information technology, use critical thinking to design (create) their prototype, collaborate with their peers, and communicate about their experience. Participants will receive t-shirts and camp kits at the camp orientation. Parents are required to attend the camp orientation on May 26, 2017 at 6:30 pm. Camp fees have been offset by vendors and partners to provide useful resources and experienced volunteers.

- Deadline: April 17, 2017 (extended until June 2, 2017)
- This allows time for processing and preparing kits for each candidate for orientation.
