- Tap and hold an app until it starts to jiggle, then drag the app over another icon and release.
- Double-clicking the Home button shows you all the apps that are running on your iPad in a bar along the bottom of the screen. Close these by tapping and holding until the apps jiggle and a red circle with a white minus sign appears. Tap the red circle to close the app.
- Double-click the home button to open the running apps bar at the bottom. Swipe the bar to the right. Tap the icon with the circle arrow to lock the screen orientation.
- By going to settings > notifications, you can decide which apps can pop up alerts. Notifications can be a distraction to students.
- Tap and hold until you receive the magnifying glass. Slowly move your finger to the spot you want the curser. Lift your finger.
- Press the power and home buttons simultaneously, then let go. The screen will flash and you’ll hear a click.
- Tap the shift key, then the letter. To type in all caps, double tap the shift key. It will turn solid blue indicating caps lock.
- Tap, hold down, and release. Tap Copy.
- Tap and hold the ! to access the hidden apostrophe option.
- Double tap the space bar at the end of a sentence to add a period and space.
- When reading a webpage or article, use the reader button in the URL bar to open the page full screen and minimize the advertisements.
- Tap and hold to select a word. Then, tap define.
- You can zoom in on any website by pinching out with two fingers on the screen. This makes it easier to select words and tap links.
